I’ve been able to set up a cheaper domain with access to the previous projects.
- ANONYMOUS REVIEW podcast – AA History
- VIRTUAL SPEAKER MEETING podcast – 12-Step Speakers
- SPONSORSHIP podcast – 12-Step Sponsorship from people with years/decades of experience
- RECOVERY READER – whole and in part, free download and hardcopy order option.
- SPONSOR MAGAZINE – magazine – PDF with the three current issues. A fourth issue may appear in 2014. Maybe even a fifth. Also link to hardcopy.
- INTRODUCTION TO RECOVERY class – the source of all of the projects, a different newcomer’s class given at the Healing Place of Wake County since 2004 with resources, techniques and 24 recordings. Research for this class became the anthology Recovery Reader.
- TRADITIONS – Experiment in a self-education online ‘class’ to be followed as you see get. Key speakers on the history and application of the Twelve Traditions.
- SPEAKER DISK – Experiment with a computer disk image containing various speakers which you can listen to through your computer, extract for you MP3 player or burn individually as audio CDs. ISO file.
- ARCHIVE.ORG – direct links to the various storage sites for most of these projects on the archive.org site.
The site is updating and should be available by October 4.
I was set to cancel all of my web presence because I couldn’t pay the current hosting bill. Grim, but became willing.
I just got off the phone with my hosting company. As I was preparing the bullet to bite, they decided that I had been a good customer for a long time. 2004, to be exact. And they cancelled my bill for the quarter.
sponsormagazine.org and anonymousreview.org will still go away. They mark extra costs I cannot justify, but the cheaper sponsormagazine.info will be reasonable. All previous projects are available as free downloads from archive.org (that is the three issues of Sponsor Magazine, Recovery Reader, and 107 podcasts).
New projects will need to be reality based. And I’m not sure what that means.
But I’m really grateful for this little piece of grace in billing.
Okay, got the notice today for the domain name registry on the website. My previous request for help resulted in a $20 donation, which covers two months of hosting service. If the project can cover its own cost of operation – we’re talking $45 for domains and hosting – by early August. $20 from last round, total of $115 in the past six years. I need to cover increasing costs from a fixed income and the project may need to go if it can’t cover its own costs.
Donation page at http://podcast.sponsormagazine.org, scroll to the bottom.
The new app is up, so download it while you can. “Good Orderly Direction” is going through one more round of edits before final public release.
I downloaded the Meeting format app on the Android tablet. I don’t have access to an iPad, but it does work on the Android 4.1 system… and the larger format means it is even easier to read.
I’m wondering if I should update the app to reflect a re-presentation of the original podcast idea. Short, limited presentations. Like mini-series. Let me stew on that for a bit. I’m thinking of the three part history of the Oxford groups by Jay S. from the original ANONYMOUS REVIEW podcast as a starter.
After all, everybody gets to hear this stuff for the first time.
The Speaker in a Box podcast for May is up. It features an energetic speaker from 2007. Rick M, speaking from Shelbyville. That might be the Shelbyville in Kentucky, or the Shelbyville in Tennessee, or the Shelbyville in Illinois… or somewhere else. But we are pretty sure it was an AA meeting and someone had asked him to speak becaues of his message.
The picture has nothing to do with the podcast. It’s just something I found on the web and like. Don’t know who did it, but they should be congratulated.
The next in the Sponsor Magazine Podcast is up – #24. Scott R. continues his talk on the Fourth Step Inventory as a lifetime process.

Free to download, free to subscribe. In fact, all of the Sponsor Magazine projects are free to download and to share.
Book: A RECOVERY READER
Magazine: SPONSOR MAGAZINE
Podcasts: four of them, details through the regular link, listed above.
I’ve been busy. I have a few books coming out that require my time and attention. The second edition of A RECOVERY READER is in the works with a new system that will make the print-on-demand version available through Amazon.com. And i finally have time to work on the 4th issue of Sponsor Magazine.
SPONSOR MAGAZINE PODCAST #15 is up.
The new podcast, SPEAKER IN A BOX Podcast #1 is up
And if you prefer the mobile device access page…
I haven’t decided what day of the week will be the day for hte new podcast… I’m thinking Thursday, so the new meeting is up in time for Friday, when many people need an extra meeting. The format is not perfect, but it’s not a bad meeting.
For the not really good news, RSS Continues to kick my ass and I don’t know when I’ll be able to get iTunes on board. But you can go to the links directly, download the files if you like, and not have to wait for the RSS.
Okay, Sunday night (on the west coast, at least) and the new podcast is up and working.
This is going a little smoother. Apparently I am not allowed to replace a file with the new version of the page. But if I REMOVE the previous file, the new one plugs in and is immediately available.
So, immediately available: http://podcast.sponsormagazine.org/podcast.html
This show wraps the up Chris R / Miles R Sponsorship talk. The next six are ready to be assembled. Two more people sharing on Sponsorship.
Check the main page (delete the podcast.html) for new goodies available over the next few weeks.
Slowly, it is getting smoother and better. Not a bad thing.
Curiouser and Curiouser
When I downloaded the Miles and Chris R. talks on Sponsorship, they were in five parts. I produced the last of the November shows and discovered that #3 and #4 were only about 30 minutes each.
So I put #3 and #4 together as #2, then Podcast #5 will really be Podcast #4.
To clean house I will produce a 1-off podcast for #5 that will keep the series on the numbering I originally scheduled. And I will start numbering podcasts at the front of each show with #5.
It does feel good that I now have shows a few weeks in advance and have set up a template production file that allows me to adjust the opening and then drop in the talks as they are needed. I also found my USB headset which will my narration better sound.
Look for a new podcast every Sunday night – right after I get home from teaching my class at the Healing Place of Wake County.
